Did Federal Pacific ever make breaker boxes/systems other than Stab Lok, are the Stab Lok systems as bad as they say, and would you recognize one even if the labels are removed? I don't have pics, I think the labels are still there, and I'll try to get pics tomorrow.

I've seen prices anywhere from $800 to $3500, so that's a very good question.
Gummi, my agent and the termite inspector will be there Monday from 12-2, and my agent said she would let you in to see the system. If you can't make it, we will get you pictures.
I'm about to call the inspector in regards to "some" aluminum wiring he found. I think it's just in one spot, like on the heater or something. I'll let you know what he says about that in a bit.

The aluminum wiring is just between box to box, across split busses, and at the service entrance. There's no antioxidant cream on the connections, nothing to worry about too much.
There is some aluminum wiring and copper wiring on the same terminal, and this does need to be addressed. This is in the Federal Pacific box, so it'll go away when the box is replaced.

Hey Jason, right now it's scheduled from 12-2 to have access to the house. If that does not work, we can try another time, work from the pictures, whatever.
I can be there between those times too if you want to show me anything.

I'll try to make it there. Set myself a reminder to bring my tools
Grand - expect anywhere from $2-5,000 for a reputable contractor to do the work. Most will go ahead and bring the rest of your service entrance up to code at the same time, and update the grounding as well for that price. There are plenty of goofballs that may do it for less than that, but you'll get goofball quality work for your deal.
