Have any requests from Llano or Caprock? I will be back in DFW next week and can pick up some before I leave.

Last time we were there, Caprock had a table red that was something like $3.99 a bottle, and was probably the best deal I've seen around there. Llano has gone downhill.

We just went to Llano last month...there were several nice things there (and the tour is pretty badass).

I bet Claudia would like some things from Caprock...

Oh and Bryan, holla back at me about that girl who needs a place to stay this summer; I might have found a place!

I'm going to pass. I'm not sure if Caprock is going to be open for the season yet and I'm sitting on about 5 cases of wine right now. I need to drink my way through that before I buy anymore.

Plus I have my eye on a very nice bottle that I'm trying to save for.

I would like to get something from both places, but I'm a bit too broke right now.

Well hell if Duane wants it.

I believe it is called Texas Red and last time we were there it was the wine of the month and cost about $4...a smoking deal.

lol, between cigars and wine, I've spent about $600 in the last 2 weeks. Not being a puss about it. I would want to pick up some Cab Sauvignon Reserver and red Zinfandel. I'd also probably try the Viviano. But with what I brought back from New York and that, I'd have to go get my wine cooler also.

Frank, plan on picking up your wine cooler when you snag your Jeep next week. Either that, or I can bring it to Brett's sometime.

Hopefully I'll need to pick up my Jeep next week. Since Shaffer's can't seem to get shit right, I might need to hit the J/Y on friday.

I tried the Viviano when at Llano. For $40 bucks you can buy better wine at Lance's. It apparently won best wine from TX this year or something but honestly for that kind of money you can do better.

I was wondering if you tried that one. The website said it was more of a Tuscan style, probably why it didn't appeal to you.

Yea, $40 will get you a nice bottle. I rarely spend that much, but when I do, it's because it is something really good, not just OK. We have a few $40 bottles on hand right now...

Ordered a case of Bitch the other day, they've been out. It'll sell fast, so if that's one you like, let him know, he will hold it back.

You are joking right? My favorite wine is a Brunello from Tuscany. In general I think they make some of the best wines in the world...at least the world I'm tasting. Llano's Viviano was simply less than I expected from a $40 bottle of wine.

I thought previously you said you were not real fond of Italian wines?

NO. I love Italian wine.

Now at some point Robbie went on about either not liking Italian or French wines. Please tell me you are not confusing me with Robbie...I will put a bullet in my head.

I like all the above. I just recently bought a $20 Italian brunello. It was OK, although a little too oaky as it got air on it. We tasted another brunello that was AWESOME, but I didn't want to pay $55 for it.

Had a Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale that was VERY good a few weeks ago. I'll probably buy another soon, although it is about $45.

Inama has a Soave I absolutely LOVE. I'd like to try some more of the Inama wines, unfortunately they aren't cheap either.

I just bought an Italian Reisling, almost opened it last night, but since we were having Pad Thai, I wanted to save it for when I either wasn't eating, or when it wouldn't be so strong to overpower the wine.

I buy tons of French wine. CdP is one of my favorites. I had a white Bordeaux (French) last night.

Well damn, I guess we'll drink just about anything. LOL

I haven't had a Italian Reisling. You'll have to let me know how it differs from German Reislings. I'm assuming it will still be a very sweet wine but I'm curious how the warmer temperature will affect the grape.

Didn't confuse you with Robbie. For that to happen, I would actually have to talk to him.

I don't remember what Jon told me about this one. I've had one before and it was a "dry" reisling. Dry as they go, anyway. I liked it a lot, so Jon said for the same money try this one. I'll let you know. Heck, we could just open it together.

OH, Crow.... have you ever been to WineTastic on Lemmon Ave. right by Gloria's? it's a fun place to go... combo wine shop/tasting room/restaurant... where you can get tastes, flights and half- or full glasses... and the waiters are really nice - will sit down with you and talk wine. we mentioned the Bitch to him last time we were there, and he said he had heard about it just recently from a couple different ppl. well, we had just been to the wine store, so Robbie ran down and got the bottle and gave him some to taste.
the food there is good... snacks more-or-less... we had a variety of nuts, fruits, hummus/pita, cheese, crackers, olives and dipping oils... one of the best meals i've ever had... mmmmmmmmm
